SAM Morphs for RaceMenu 1.0.5

   (16 reviews)

About This File

This is a RaceMenu plugin that adds SAM morphs without using any of SAM's scripts.  It's mainly intended to add SAM morphing features to SE, but a version for Oldrim is also provided.

Using armor refits for SAM is highly recommended.  For SE users, the refits must be converted to SE format using NIF Optimizer.

RaceMenu SE 0.2.4+ requires .tri morphs to be using the newer format exported by Outfit Studio.

Main Features

  • Body Morphs for different body types
  • Texture selection for custom textures
  • Body hair overlays for extra body hair control
  • BodyGen Morphs for diverse body types on all male NPC's based on class (optional)

Body Morphs

  • Samson/Samuel morphs with a toggle for skeleton scaling
  • Genital morphs based on SAM genital bones scaling formula
  • Foreskin morph to toggle foreskin
  • Individual bone scaling used in Samson/Samuel morphs for finer tuning
  • Genital skeleton scaling for compatiblity with genital accessories

sliders.thumb.jpg.57271cf8825e792707d2fb514d32d383.jpg

Texture Selection (SAM Light only, textures not included)

  • Swap to different diffuse, normal, and specular maps for the body, hands, and feet*
  • Requires refits with body parts correctly named for SAM (SAMBody, SAMHands, SAMFeet, SAMGenitals, SAMForeskin)
  • Textures follow the naming convention BaseName_xx.dds (diffuse), BaseName_xx_msn.dds (normal), BaseName_xx_s.dds (specular) where xx ranges from 01 to 10
    • For example, base texture malebody_1.dds would be named malebody_01.dds, malebody_02.dds, malebody_03.dds, etc.
  • Feet textures have the BaseName of MaleFeet (default races), ArgonianMaleFeet (Argonian), and FeetMale (Khajiit)

*feet uses body texture by default

Usage

Three custom spells are automatically added under Powers.

  • SAM Morphs (Self)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the player character
  • SAM Morphs (Target)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the target character
  • SAM Textures Config
    • Configures setting for feet texture mode and resets texture overrides

*requires UIExtensions

Requirements

*not required, but SAM assets are required in some type of setup (like SOS).  SAM scripts/.esp/.dll are not used.
**only required for editing morphs on NPC's

Manual Installation

  • 00 Textures for overlays
  • 01 Base mod for either Oldrim or SE
  • 02 BodyGen morphs (1 for basic setup, 2 for overrides from other mods) (optional)
  • 03 Genital Morphs if not using SAM Light (optional)

Notes

  • Foreskin morph requires SAM Light "un-cut" option during installation.
  • BodyGen for RaceMenu SE can make the game unstable based on individual setups.
  • BodyGen morphs are saved in the SKSE co-save alongside the game save.  NetImmerse Override Cleaner can be used to remove the morph data in Oldrim saves.  I'm not aware of any equivalent tool for SE.
  • Body hair overlay only applies to the main body mesh, not the genitals.  This is due to how the overlay system was designed.
  • RaceMenu for NPC's will show them in a T-pose during slider changes.  This is intentional and required when updating skeleton scaling since the game is paused.  NPC will resume animations once the menu is closed.
  • Genital morphs don't use genital skeleton scaling and are intended for BodyGen randomization.
  • If used alongside the full SAM, the morphs and scaling are not synchronized and will add on top of each other.

Credits

  • expired6978 for RaceMenu and UIExtensions
  • Vector for the creation of Shape Atlas for Men

What's New in Version 1.0.5   See changelog

Released

  • added cloaking ability to reapply custom textures to affected NPC's in range.  Cloak is only active when at least one NPC is using custom textures.  Use SAM Morphs (Self) or SAM Morphs (Target) spell at least once to enable effect in existing game.

The overlays can be used for tattoos and my mod will keep them on male NPC's if you use any overlay.

Arm hair and armpit hair overlays are planned for a future update.  I just haven't had the time to create the textures for them yet.

Oh my lord, then your Mod will be my Mod of the Year! I was looking for a way to put the Overlays on my Guys for sooo long. the EFF RaceMenu thing didn't really work, they always vanished after a while.

How would one correctly fit armors for SE? I ran them through NIF Optimizer but they still don't correctly morph with sam sliders.

It's the same as refitting an armor for Oldrim.  You just need to take the extra steps to export the .tri morphs using Outfit Studio and convert the meshes to SE format with NIF Optimizer.

That requires having the genital mesh attached to the body mesh and transfering the vertex weights.  It ends up nearly doubling the amount of body types I'd have to maintain across all my mods.  I already scrapped that idea prior to releasing this mod.

Adding morphs alone won't be enough.  They need to also be supported in every armor refit.  Samson/Samuel morphs are supported in every SAM refit, but anything else is up to each individual mod author.

Hey, thank you a lot for uploading this! I started using this mod today and I found two issues, though: 1) My character is a Wood Elf, and when I try to get him naked to see the effects of the body alteration, the game crashes (I do the normal "open item inventory and click the clothing off" / when I change clothes it's ok, I just can't get him naked / and I also can get others naked, as tested on a dead male character); 2) the hands mesh doesn't match the rest of the body after scaling changes using SAM Body.
Help would be appreciated!

1. Altmer/ Bosmer male PC will get CTD while getting naked.

This a vanilla (1st person) skeleton incompatibility with SAM only for these two races, as expleined by Kou in this post.

It's easy to fix the problem, but if you're not sure how to make a patch by yourself, I incorporated the fix into .esp version of Briarheart body patch for SAM, posted below.

2. Hand mesh problems

Have you by change installed any other hand meshes, or, HDT-related package like AIO ?

Many of such 'HDT' package includes tweaked version of Better Males or SoS hand meshes to enable finger collision, but they are not compatible with SAM in game morph.

Alternatively, it can be a body mesh that cause trouble, not hand meshes. Have you tried the morph in fully nude?

Hi y_sengaku, thank you very much! I downloaded and installed the fix you uploaded yesterday but then went to sleep. It fixed the main issue that was the crash!

The 2nd issue is kinda solved, I don't have any other  hand meshes (actually, I started my modding with SAM and its requierements): the diference only appears with extreme gain on the Samson and Samuel body types, so it's just a question of keeping it mild (ranging about quarter of the sliders, which I could see was the wanted body type after I undressed my character). So that's fine!
Thank you once more for the attention and solutions given!

Now I can start20190129160534_1.thumb.jpg.f84ed9b870486d601731d6072b8f041e.jpg playing with a male Bosmer in conditions : )

Progress on the next version featuring texture selection.  The body and feet sliders are a bit redundant since they share the same textures, but Skyrim uses different slots for them.  I just have the arrays point to the same textures.  Changing head textures isn't possible due to a crashing issue with RaceMenu.

Have you installed XPMSE (for LE) or XPMSSE (for SE)?

Yeah, i installed XPMSSE after all the sam stuff so it wouldn't overwrite it.

I am getting CTDs after moving the Samson and Samuel sliders in any way. The other sliders work just fine. Im using Oldrim with SAM full, Racemenu 3.4.5, Showracemenu precache killer and Crash Fixes.

It's possible that the NiOverride/SKEE check is failing.  Make sure you don't have any loose RaceMenu scripts from a previous installation.

The UseOSAllocators option of Crash Fixes seems to cause a CTD whenever I use the UpdateModelWeight() function of NiOverride.  I'll remove that function call in the next update.

I reinstalled SKEE and that made it work. Thanks for the help ?

So for some reason the wrists and fingers are gone, and whenever I change the slide, the body just goes invisible. I also used an older version of Racemenu but no dice since I don't know shit about this stuff. Don't really know what else to do since I'm an idiot so...

EDIT: I managed to download an rdt version, but now I can't even change the body scaling when it comes to Samuel or Penis Size.

Loving the mod but download the last version and when i try to change the new tab slider the body of my character turns purples, blurry or too shiny, depending of the option. The bodyhair option isn't showing up neither. I'm using Sam's Light texture

Also since it's already supported is there any guide (preferably for dummies) explaining how to use the body gen feature feature for males (both sam body slider and regular racemenu/xp32 slider like spine, butt and waist)? I know this isn't OP responsability but I'm using MO2 and can't even make it start to work and every guide i've seen aparently only works for females. They all require tri morphs and i don't know how to get them for male characters. I'm trying to use the all option form bodygen so i don't have to change every NPC invidually like i've been doing.

You're missing the custom textures which aren't included with this mod.  The texture feature is intended to let you use your own custom textures for specific NPC's.  The overlays are found in the body/feet paint tabs.  I'll eventually update the installers for SAM Light and its texture add-on to include all the texture options to be used in this mod.

BodyGen templates are already included in this mod and they work just fine (assuming you have refits for SAM).  You only have to install the correct version depending if you use XPMSE/CBBE/etc that also use BodyGen.  In this case, load order matters since the All option will overwrite everything.

As usual giving us wonderful updates kudos man, may I also ask where did you get that underwear?

I ported it from Daz3D a long time ago for personal use.
