SAM Morphs for RaceMenu 1.0.5

   (16 reviews)

About This File

This is a RaceMenu plugin that adds SAM morphs without using any of SAM's scripts.  It's mainly intended to add SAM morphing features to SE, but a version for Oldrim is also provided.

Using armor refits for SAM is highly recommended.  For SE users, the refits must be converted to SE format using NIF Optimizer.

RaceMenu SE 0.2.4+ requires .tri morphs to be using the newer format exported by Outfit Studio.

Main Features

  • Body Morphs for different body types
  • Texture selection for custom textures
  • Body hair overlays for extra body hair control
  • BodyGen Morphs for diverse body types on all male NPC's based on class (optional)

Body Morphs

  • Samson/Samuel morphs with a toggle for skeleton scaling
  • Genital morphs based on SAM genital bones scaling formula
  • Foreskin morph to toggle foreskin
  • Individual bone scaling used in Samson/Samuel morphs for finer tuning
  • Genital skeleton scaling for compatiblity with genital accessories

Texture Selection (SAM Light only, textures not included)

  • Swap to different diffuse, normal, and specular maps for the body, hands, and feet*
  • Requires refits with body parts correctly named for SAM (SAMBody, SAMHands, SAMFeet, SAMGenitals, SAMForeskin)
  • Textures follow the naming convention BaseName_xx.dds (diffuse), BaseName_xx_msn.dds (normal), BaseName_xx_s.dds (specular) where xx ranges from 01 to 10
    • For example, base texture malebody_1.dds would be named malebody_01.dds, malebody_02.dds, malebody_03.dds, etc.
  • Feet textures have the BaseName of MaleFeet (default races), ArgonianMaleFeet (Argonian), and FeetMale (Khajiit)

*feet uses body texture by default

Usage

Three custom spells are automatically added under Powers.

  • SAM Morphs (Self)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the player character
  • SAM Morphs (Target)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the target character
  • SAM Textures Config
    • Configures setting for feet texture mode and resets texture overrides

*requires UIExtensions

Requirements

*not required, but SAM assets are required in some type of setup (like SOS).  SAM scripts/.esp/.dll are not used.
**only required for editing morphs on NPC's

Manual Installation

  • 00 Textures for overlays
  • 01 Base mod for either Oldrim or SE
  • 02 BodyGen morphs (1 for basic setup, 2 for overrides from other mods) (optional)
  • 03 Genital Morphs if not using SAM Light (optional)

Notes

  • Foreskin morph requires SAM Light "un-cut" option during installation.
  • BodyGen for RaceMenu SE can make the game unstable based on individual setups.
  • BodyGen morphs are saved in the SKSE co-save alongside the game save.  NetImmerse Override Cleaner can be used to remove the morph data in Oldrim saves.  I'm not aware of any equivalent tool for SE.
  • Body hair overlay only applies to the main body mesh, not the genitals.  This is due to how the overlay system was designed.
  • RaceMenu for NPC's will show them in a T-pose during slider changes.  This is intentional and required when updating skeleton scaling since the game is paused.  NPC will resume animations once the menu is closed.
  • Genital morphs don't use genital skeleton scaling and are intended for BodyGen randomization.
  • If used alongside the full SAM, the morphs and scaling are not synchronized and will add on top of each other.

Credits

  • expired6978 for RaceMenu and UIExtensions
  • Vector for the creation of Shape Atlas for Men

What's New in Version 1.0.5   See changelog

Released

  • added cloaking ability to reapply custom textures to affected NPC's in range.  Cloak is only active when at least one NPC is using custom textures.  Use SAM Morphs (Self) or SAM Morphs (Target) spell at least once to enable effect in existing game.

Looks wonderful!

I am using it on my new install of SSE, and occasionally while moving the sliders, the figure will turn white, and then the body will disappear. This could be my fault, I am still looking into it.

Edit: after the body turns white, any change to sliders makes it disappear, and then any change to body (changing race, changing sex and then changing back) causes the game to crash.

Not sure what I've managed to do wrong, but I got it working in my SSE, but when I go to change a slider for the body the game completely locks up.

The body disappearing is a known issue with skee itself since the alpha release.  I advise saving before using RaceMenu to make any changes if you're in the middle of a long gaming session.

Do you happen to use SSE Engine Fixes?

I do use SSE Engine Fixes. If you're going to tell me to enable precache killer, that was already added in the newest release of RaceMenu xD

It's a compatibility issue with [BSReadWriteLock] if you have it enabled.  What I suggest to do is use the original settings for Engine Fixes and see if it RaceMenu still locks up.

Great job! will you upload that body textures in the future?

It's still for my own private use.  The normal and specular maps will be made available for SAM Light at some point.

Doesn't work for me. I'm using Skyrim, not the Special Edition. Nexus Mod Manager for installing.

When I use showracemenu to change sliders for Spine, Pelvis and so forth it work fine. But when I try the sliders for Samuel or Penis Size the model just flickers, I can even see the underwear for a split second. No changes for Samuel or Penis Size are actually applied to the model however.

How does one use UIExtensions to change an NPCs appearance? I'm having quite a bit of trouble.

there are several ways, but this mod comes with a spell that you can cast on NPCs to do it.

Do I just PSB or is there a location for it?

Hello.

I have a question about the use of bodygen:
If BODYGEN is activated at the same time as the SAM mod (and not SAM LIGHT), can this create a conflict?

Thank you for your hard work !

Morphs have a key attached to them to prevent overrides.  SAM (full) morphs and BodyGen morphs use different keys.  They won't conflict and will just add on top of each other.  This mod is using the same key as BodyGen to allow BodyGen morphs to be viewed and changed in RaceMenu.

Men, i need that chararcter Preset, i want my character with that body shape

I typically use weight 50 or 75 with a small range of 20-30 in Samson for muscles and -10 in Samuel if I want slightly slimmer hips.  Normal maps make a difference too.

The body going invisible is an issue with RaceMenu itself (specifically the skee.dll plugin).  NiOverride had to be rewritten for SE with regards to meshes since the format got changed.  If the body goes invisible while using the sliders, the best thing to do is restart the game.  While the issue isn't common, it does happen.  If it happens every single time, then something else is wrong.  In this case, the only thing I can suggest is to do an incremental install and test to see if the sliders work properly before adding the next mod.

Great addition to Racemenu, I can make my dragonborn exactly as buff as I expect him to be. Only issue I'm having is that Racemenu profiles aren't being loaded properly. The scaling feature is kept when I load a saved profile however any other SAM sliders are always reset to the default when I load the profile. The only other plugin I use is the XPMSE one, but those scale values are conserved (more or less, I'm also posting on Nexus a question because the numbers are the same but the proportions on my character are different than when I saved the profile). Do you have a thought as to what is going on?

The scaling feature being kept after loading a preset is just a visual bug.  When you load a preset, all scaling and morphs will reset and changed according to the preset.  The skeleton scaling will still appear to be in effect, but that's due to the cache.  After loading a preset, save the game, exit to the title screen (to flush the cache), and then reload the save to see the actual preset in effect.  XPMSE uses an alias script to change weapon styles and may not refresh upon loading a preset.

Wow may I know which enb are you using? That lighting and shadow are amazing!

PRT ENB with custom settings and ELFX for dramatic interior lighting.
