SAM Morphs for RaceMenu 1.0.5

   (16 reviews)

4 Screenshots

About This File

This is a RaceMenu plugin that adds SAM morphs without using any of SAM's scripts.  It's mainly intended to add SAM morphing features to SE, but a version for Oldrim is also provided.

Using armor refits for SAM is highly recommended.  For SE users, the refits must be converted to SE format using NIF Optimizer.

RaceMenu SE 0.2.4+ requires .tri morphs to be using the newer format exported by Outfit Studio.

Main Features

  • Body Morphs for different body types
  • Texture selection for custom textures
  • Body hair overlays for extra body hair control
  • BodyGen Morphs for diverse body types on all male NPC's based on class (optional)

Body Morphs

  • Samson/Samuel morphs with a toggle for skeleton scaling
  • Genital morphs based on SAM genital bones scaling formula
  • Foreskin morph to toggle foreskin
  • Individual bone scaling used in Samson/Samuel morphs for finer tuning
  • Genital skeleton scaling for compatiblity with genital accessories

Texture Selection (SAM Light only, textures not included)

  • Swap to different diffuse, normal, and specular maps for the body, hands, and feet*
  • Requires refits with body parts correctly named for SAM (SAMBody, SAMHands, SAMFeet, SAMGenitals, SAMForeskin)
  • Textures follow the naming convention BaseName_xx.dds (diffuse), BaseName_xx_msn.dds (normal), BaseName_xx_s.dds (specular) where xx ranges from 01 to 10
    • For example, base texture malebody_1.dds would be named malebody_01.dds, malebody_02.dds, malebody_03.dds, etc.
  • Feet textures have the BaseName of MaleFeet (default races), ArgonianMaleFeet (Argonian), and FeetMale (Khajiit)

*feet uses body texture by default

Usage

Three custom spells are automatically added under Powers.

  • SAM Morphs (Self)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the player character
  • SAM Morphs (Target)*
    • Opens a minimal version of RaceMenu on the target character
  • SAM Textures Config
    • Configures setting for feet texture mode and resets texture overrides

*requires UIExtensions

Requirements

*not required, but SAM assets are required in some type of setup (like SOS).  SAM scripts/.esp/.dll are not used.
**only required for editing morphs on NPC's

Manual Installation

  • 00 Textures for overlays
  • 01 Base mod for either Oldrim or SE
  • 02 BodyGen morphs (1 for basic setup, 2 for overrides from other mods) (optional)
  • 03 Genital Morphs if not using SAM Light (optional)

Notes

  • Foreskin morph requires SAM Light "un-cut" option during installation.
  • BodyGen for RaceMenu SE can make the game unstable based on individual setups.
  • BodyGen morphs are saved in the SKSE co-save alongside the game save.  NetImmerse Override Cleaner can be used to remove the morph data in Oldrim saves.  I'm not aware of any equivalent tool for SE.
  • Body hair overlay only applies to the main body mesh, not the genitals.  This is due to how the overlay system was designed.
  • RaceMenu for NPC's will show them in a T-pose during slider changes.  This is intentional and required when updating skeleton scaling since the game is paused.  NPC will resume animations once the menu is closed.
  • Genital morphs don't use genital skeleton scaling and are intended for BodyGen randomization.
  • If used alongside the full SAM, the morphs and scaling are not synchronized and will add on top of each other.

Credits

  • expired6978 for RaceMenu and UIExtensions
  • Vector for the creation of Shape Atlas for Men

What's New in Version 1.0.5   See changelog

Released

  • added cloaking ability to reapply custom textures to affected NPC's in range.  Cloak is only active when at least one NPC is using custom textures.  Use SAM Morphs (Self) or SAM Morphs (Target) spell at least once to enable effect in existing game.

First off i just wanna thank you for an amazing mod making my Skyrim ever more pleasurable to log into

I do have a few complications when it comes to follower NPC the ones i forced to be followers (i'm using Amazing Followers Mod) their bodies seem to reset to how they used based on the SAM sliders in the MCM menus everytime i load into a new area (cave, dungeon, house, etc) I have to use the Spell Sam Morph (target) each time just so they can get the body the way i left it on the sliders using your mod, I also tried saving the file exiting to main menu and reloading that file but it didn't work

It sounds like you're using SAM (full) alongside my mod.  I can't guarantee its functionality since SAM may be clearing all morphs (including mine) before applying its own morphs as a way to reset things after a screen transition.

How exactly does one reach that Body Hair Overlay menu, and can I also use it on NPCs?

Check Racemenu or SAM Morph (PC/ NPC)> Body Paint (Scroll to right).

You can apply the body hair overlay there (see: the SS below) by [T] Choose Texture (then the texture menu will be shown.

You CAN (though MAY have to) adjust the hair color by [C] choose color option. The easiest way is to be achived by saving your PC's hair color by [F5] in hair sectiion and loading the color by [F9].

While to apply the body hair overlay to NPCs by SAM Morph NPCs is technically entirely possible, it is a bit tricky due to this system (You have to specify NPC's body hair color by yourself manually, since you cannot rely on this saving/re-loading method and know the exact RGB of the NPC's hair color only in game).

Very few slider options. As I recall there used to be many many more options. Do we have any idea when this will be officially ported to SE? Thanks :)

The light version combined with the morph file causes underwear to be under the penis. Like a fly is open and it is just hanging out of it. I dont think that looks great. It is much better combined with sos, since you cant change the belly or glute anyways with this version.

Which texture do you use? I don't think you use compatible texture with SAM light.

I was under the impression SAM light was the texture, as it is clearly a body texture and drastically changes the body.

Can I see sample SS of how it looks in your game?

I have already reverted to my old setup, which works. It takes awhile to switch between body setups. I was hoping for a mod that could drastically alter the shape of my character, which I heard SAM could do. But now I see all it can do is make your character either bigger or smaller. I was looking to make a muscly/chubby character. Do you know of a way to achieve that?

Sorry, I afraid that you don't install required compatible body replacer (either SAM - light and SAM - full, but I recommend to the former one in requirement section) or the compatibe skeleton like XPMSE (links are for LE) correctly. This mod is basically a in game UI for morphing helper, so without male body replacer that supports in-game morphs the sliders would not work.

Any textures would be (at least tried to be) applied to the body, so 'drastically changes the body' can be an incompatible one.

[Added]: If you could see fewer slider options than the sample SS(s) by the mod author above, it means that your setting lacked either the compatible skeleton or the compatible body replacer with body morph sliders.

I thought the full version of SAM for SSE wasnt out yet? I do have xpmse and SAM light installed. So you don't know of a way to create a chubby character?

Not yet, and perhaps never.

>chubby character

Just give 'Samuel' slider to high values.

[Added]: By chance, are your character a custom race with their own skeleton?

I tried that. Adjusting the 'Samuel' slider just enlarges the existing model and makes it more top heavy. It doesn't add additional belly.

As I added above, both underwear and very fewer sliders suggest that your PC is assigned the custom texture as well as skeleton path that is characteristic of some custom races like ECE's ygnord (SAM does not like custom race in general).

>belly

Didn't your character morph as my sample PC does, as shown in the spoiler below?

Not remotely like that. There is no roundness added at all. It just upscales the size of the torso. I am going to do some more digging. I think I might know what I did wrong.

BTW, have you overwritten XPMSSE with SAM light's default skeleton?

Re-installing XPMSSE's skeleton again will does trick for the slider issues, though I have little idea as for the fix of your texture issue. Sorry.

Okay, I fixed the issue. I was entirely unaware that I needed external textures. I thought the SAM light was the textures. So I downloaded the HD textures and it is now giving roundness. However, I still have the underwear issue.

SAM light had their own textures, and texture isself does not anything to do with the body shape, as I wrote above.

Didn't you by accident choose 'underwear' option when you had installed SAM - Light?

'Uncut' option is the optimized one for SAM Morphs (you can adjust cut/ uncut by set ForeskinHide 1/0 from Race Menu Morph).

Sorry for bothering again and again.

Just double-checked the installer of SAM light v 1.2, and confirms that either uncut or cut option should not install underwear in SE (at least with my MO2).

I also have two questions:

  • The penis seems to be properly textured in your game? (It means that SAM - light textures has been applied to the penis mesh)
  • What kind of underwear do your PC put on the genital? The default SAM leather bikini one like SoS? or vanilla loincloth one?

I sort of fixed it. I installed SOS and then reinstalled SAM over it. Underwear is gone but now I have 2 penis meshes. It's barely noticable.

Thanks for response, and sorry for I could not and cannot identify your exact problem.

  • SAM - full texture is not 100% compatible with SAM light's mesh. So if your description of 'installing SAM HD fixed the issue' is true, the penis should not be textured.
  • Honestly I have no idea where your bikini underwear (now gone) came from. I personally suspect it originally belonged to SoS (without properly uninstalled).

I hope that I could have helped you with your issues, but I've not hit upon any idea for solving the double dick issues other than re-building modding from a scratch.
