Skysight Skins for SAM Light (w/ elder race normal) 2.0.0

About This File

Release Note for v 2.0.0+: Now this package is stand-alone All-in-One replacer for whole set of SAM - Light Textures (Skin = Diffuse Maps, Normal Maps, Specular Maps, Subsurface Maps for Head, Body, and Hands. Racial Face Normal Maps are also provided).

This all-in-package is also compatible with the optional finger- and toe- nails of SAM High Poly Conversion without any manual tweak.

This was originally just my very quick and dirty edit of converting Fadingsignal's famous male body retexture mod, Skysight skin, to Kouleifoh's SAM Light, intended to use together with his new wonderful mod, SAM Morphs for Racemenu.

Then, I found out that the original author of Skysight skin, Fadingsignal, just changed his permission policy so that we can publish the modified version of his files without his explicit/ direct correspondence for individual matter (just with the credit and link), so I decided to upload this small 'mashed-up' package here (in accordance of SAM EULA) just in case anyone will be interested in.

While editing his original skin diffuse (making up for the blacked-out underwear part) was too difficult for me without touching technical/ DMCA problem,  I could convert the original body normal maps (muscles/ veins) in accordance with new SAM Light UV map, with help of some similar normal maps from other body textures.

I also include the matching wet skin specular (based on now hidden CMO resource (w open permission)) and edited subsurface for all the body part (head/ body/ hand) as well as original Skysight skin's hand normal map.

As an appendix, new body normal map for elder male is also incorporated into the package.

I hope this package works both for Skyrim LE and SE, but I haven't tested it with SE by myself.

All the credits & endorsement should be given to the original authors (please visit their original download site), not me.

Also sorry for my shitty SSs and clumsy English.

Permissions:

I just assembled the original assets and edited in accordance with SAM Light's UV MAP. As long as you follow their permission guidelines, feel free to deal with this patchwork.

What's New in Version 2.0.0   See changelog

Released

  • Now this package is stand-alone AIO replacer for whole set of SAM - Light Textures (Skin = Diffuse Maps, Normal Maps, Specular Maps, Subsurface Maps for Head, Body, and Hands).
  • Added skin texture is mostly based on the original Skysight Skins' one, combined with the original SAM, CMO, and now free-licensed (with due credit, of course)  Vitruvia - Skin texture overhaul for males.
  • The resolution of the texture is the almost same as provided in the Ultra LE package hosted on Nexus, except for the body normal map (2K vs original 4K). For SE, I compressed the textures into BC7 format (for SE only), but I assume that SE users can still also use LE package (DXT1 + RGB 8:8:8 uncompressed).
  • LE packages are still splitted into two due to the uploading problem.

Looks good, might give it a try with Kou's SAM light diffuse textures.

Oh and you can target people in the console and use the command unequipall to get them nekkid. #savethenils

Thank you for console Tips!

Now I don't have to kill him just to expose his nude. This mod became a bit nils-friendly.

In fact, he is rare vanilla elder NPC to show how elder muscle/normal map looks with some weights. Most of the elder male like Arngeir are too skinny to show noticeable difference.

Thank you very much for making this MOD. But when I installed it(with sam light se), I found that there were fine lines on the male neck. Could you please modify it?

Another question is, can I use your mod ( Male Body Hair Racemenu Overlays Plug-in )with sam light se?

Thank you for your comment.

Can I ask some questions for your first one?

Which face texture (especially normal map) do you use? SAM (light) default one? And did you install this package the last among the installed male body texture?

I don't include any face diffuse (skin) and normal  (muscle/ carving of the face) maps in the packs due to avoid potential copyright problem, and tuned for using together with the original skysight face normal map (Some face normal map maybe not 100% compatible, but I've not checked every available face re-texture so throughly). Got face normal map from the original package on Nexus will solve the question, I suppose.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6580

I also include the set (face/ body/ hand) specular (gloss) as well as subsurface (red tone) map textures for the whole body.

If you overwrite some part of these textures (especially specular) with other mods, it will also cause neck seams.

>can I use your mod ( Male Body Hair Racemenu Overlays Plug-in )with sam light se?

Though recommended to update .esp file for SE with CK (load/ re-save), MBHROP will work without any problem with SAM Light SE except for the feet part (due to the limitation of Racemenu overlay).

Updates the original face normal maps from Skysight Skins HD (2K BC7 compressed for Skyrim SE).

Sorry for your inconvenience.

can anyone help what should i download and what should i do i can't get it to work

As far as I checked, all the download links seem to work fine. It's just a retexture package.

  • For SAM - Light in SE, download the latest package for SE, Skysight Skins - SAM Light SE 2_0_AIO.7z, and overwrite the included textures with the default SAM - Light.
  • For SAM - Light in LE, download the latest package(s), splitted into two due to the size, for LE, namely Skysight Skins - SAM Light LE 2_0_Part_1.7z and Skysight Skins - SAM Light LE 2_0_Part_2.7z, and overwrite the included textures with the default SAM - Light.

1.The new version2.0.0 is better than the old one. It has only a slight color difference on the neck, not serious.

2.Male Body Hair Racemenu Overlays Plug-in

Thank you for your advice. I'll try to update .esp file.

It's a very good mod. If you can publish it on vectorplexus.com, many people who use sam light will like it.

Thank you very much for your comment. I'm sure the color difference comes from the original skysight skins in 2.0, since I include the same set in the 2.0.0 package:

  • Skin diffuse: Skysight Skins original (both face and body)
  • Normal Maps: Skysight Skins original (both face and body)
  • Specular: CMO wet skins (both face and body)
  • Subsurface: Skysight Skins original (both face and body)

There is no more I can do for eliminating the adfditional problem except for the original problem of the skins.

You can also use some mesh tweaks for reducing the seam further, though:

Seamless Males SE: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19164

I tweaked my vanilla LE head mesh as this mod did for SE head mesh.

Thank you also for your suggestiion aboout MBHROP, but, as some people and I wrote in this thread before, the feet overlay of MBHROP (in fact Racemenu Overlay function itself) is not 100% compatible with SAM, so I had decided to post MBHROP on LL instead of here.

You're welcome! In order to work with SAM - Full, however, we need four variants of skin with body hairs as well as muscles (normal maps), in accordance with the naming convention of SAM - Full, not SAM Morphs for Racemenu.  Thus, this package is not enough for SAM - Full.

At least As for the muscles (normal maps), you can instead try this one for SAM - Full: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74142/

I assume all you have to do is just to overwrite the default SAM HD's normal maps with Skysight skin muscles for SAM by LadyFiszi (not this package), linked above.

>it revert back to soft normal map of sam hd after a while or only show while wearing armor !

Sorry, but as long as the new textures successfully overwrites SAM default one, it is not so likely to occur such things (though I don't know much about how scripts work with SAM - Full and prefer more simple SAM-Light plus SAM Morphs for Racemenu). I notice that Skysight skin for SAMby LadyFiszi is packaged not opted for one-click install. Which mod manager tool you used to install the package, or are you sure whether you've overwritten the default textures with the new ones manually?

i'm talking about using this package normal maps with sam hd only to get the muscular look like this one ! but it seems to work only when wearing armor and it revert back to soft normal map of sam ! i've tried skinsight before and i overrwriten the sam hd textures with the ones from Skinsight manually and i "think" it worked before i'll install them again !

If you had used some of refits uploaded by me, it (to work only while putting the armor on)  was actually a bug that I 'fixed' in their latest update.

The wearer should look same regardless of naked or with any outfit, so I fixed it and in principle this package should be not compatible with SAM - Full. Sorry.

i'm glad that this is available outside of the vanilla body now, but what would be neat is if SAM had a way to add standalone textures to go along with the other textures in the part of the MCM where you can choose a texture to use, but maybe SAM Light doesn't even have an MCM.  I've never used it personally.

i'd love to see some kind of enhanced version of Skysight Skins... for SAM rather than SAM Light... with soft, fat, muscular, and varying degrees of hairiness like SAM has.  Maybe even a SAM conversion of the vanilla textures (sorry.  i like them. lol)... minus the clubfeet texture of course. lol

>if SAM had a way to add standalone textures to go along with the other textures

SAM morphs for Racemenu actually has an option in Racemenu to apply the customized textures along with the standard one, though to find all the necessary information (how to rename optional textures and where to put them in) would be a bit tricky.  In my personal opinion, we don't have so much relative advantage of using SAM full over SAM light plus SAM Morphs for Racemenu anymore unless you makes use of the misc functionalities of SAM full fully (like custom skeleton node adjusting for each Samson/ Samuel slider).

>enhanced versions of Skysight skins for SAM rather than SAM light.

Except hairiness, you have been largely able to achieve what you described with Skysight Skin muscles for SAM, I suppose.

[Added]: >Maybe even a SAM conversion of the vanilla textures (sorry.  i like them. lol)... minus the clubfeet texture of course. lol

To tell the truth, I also prefer vanilla textures to SAM default.

Hairy Male 4K for SAM may be worth looking for you. While the face texture itself is very low-resolution (512x512: DXT1), to customize the face diffuse (skin) as well as normal maps would improve the overall quality without vanilla-like atmosphere.

oh i don't mind vanilla-like atmosphere at all actually.  i've grown to appreciate it even.  i just wish it were easy and performance-friendly to like... randomize body textures from various mods and vanilla to provide a feeling of like... people having different shaped bodies and not just the same kind of look.  i've also seen quite a weird trend of people thinking body hair only grows in a straight line down the middle of the torso, or liking it at least.

that last set of textures looks nice other than the bald spots on the bellies of the second and third textures, and i am planning to not use morphs anymore on some files if those textures don't work with standard SAM and the morphs.
(Maybe I'm just confused though and SAM Light has morphs.  i don't actually remember what the difference was between the two SAM versions.)
It would be really neat if someone could make those textures add and remove abs like the standard SAM morphs seem to as well.

Sorry for my late response.

First of all, which version of SAM (light/ full) do you use?

Between these two variants of SAM there is no compatibility of texture (as well as meshes). This texture pack is for SAM light, and I suspect that you try to use this for SAM full (what you described above makes me assume that some scripted texture swapping occurred in your Skyrim as SAM full does for diversifying the textures).

Unfortunately, this texture pack is not for SAM full.

I also have to point out that SoS full is not generally compatible either with SAM light and with SAM full without special tweaking, and it is likely that even some SAM light plus SoS full compatibility patch cannot avoid the texture (tone) mismatch between this package and the genital texture.

Yes, in my game, SAM is fully loaded... So I was getting an error. Thank you for answer

Heya! I apologize in advance if this question has been asked here before or if this has an easy solution.
Been messing around with Skyrim mods for a while and I’ve gotten into the bodyslide program which works absolutely beautiful with CBBE. But I’ve noticed that there isn’t really a option to edit the SAM bodies in it. Is there a way I could make my own SAM body presets in the program and use them in game? I would really like to edit the SAM bodies and not just have full customization with Women.
Thank you in advance and for any efforts!
