NPC Appearance

Recommended Posts

Is it possible by any means outside of Creation Kit/Editor tools to change the appearance of a npc (body/face/etc) with a mod? Like Weight, Textures, etc...

I would utilize Creation Kit/Editor Tools but I'm pretty lack luster in the form of  intelligence of those tools.

The weights and faces of NPCs cannot be changed in-game, you have to do that in the CK. To swap textures for male characters, SAM is in fact the best choice. Dunno about females.

If that's not enough, Extensible Follower Framework can open a watered down version of Racemenu for followers. I don't remember the full menu tree, but there as option called "tattoos" that will open it. You don't get nearly as many options you would get with your PC, but there's still a bunch of stuff to play with, including genital sliders and overlays (i.e. tattoos as the menu name implies). And the NPC in question has to be your follower, of course.

That being said, creating a basic follower in CK is surprisingly easy, especially if you use only vanilla assets.

Here's a nice and short tutorial: https://levelskip.com/rpgs/Hot-to-Turn-Your-Skyrim-Character-into-a-Follower

If you want to create a character in CK with assets from mods (hair, eyes, clothing etc.), you have to know that you can only use assets that are loaded via an esm plugin. This slightly lengthy tutorial explains everything in that regard: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Adding_a_Follower_NPC_to_Skyrim
