URGENT: I need help with downloading SAM

Let it be known that I am virtually completely computer-and-script-illiterate and am in full panic mode, which is why I need help, and I need it put in very simple terms.

I clicked on each download link and saved them under downloads, but SAM's menu is not taking effect. I need help with this, I don't know how to do it properly! 

I downloaded both Skyrim and SkyUI through Steam, but that hasn't taken effect either! Did I not do some vital step? Please help!

there is a well written installation guide here, but if you don't understand the very basics of modding skyrim yet, you should find a tutorial for that first. there's many videos and written guides available for that if you're unsure.
