Gladiator Armor Concept

Recommended Posts

Disclaimer: Screenshot included solely for reference, and I do NOT claim any ownership of the image.

So, I was wondering if this is possible.  To create a SAM-compatible armor mod that supports the many styles of the Roman Gladiators (think of the Spartacus series).  A few thoughts I had on how to go about this:

- the harnesses can be different styles (i.e. bulldog, X, etc.), or incorporate all of them and make each style of harness and respective material individually craftable.

- arm, leg, and head equipment pieces can be left as they are, if so desired

- the loincloth could be traditional brief-like or along the lines of the Forsworn Loincloth Refit and Barbarian Loincloths (who doesn't like freeballin).  As a personal touch, methinks in the case of loincloths that they be just enough to cover the genitals, showing the v-taper and the legs.

- themed material usage w/ appropriate material requirements (leather, glass, ebony, dragonscale, etc.)

- crafting perk requirements (seems odd to make a dragonplate gladiator set with a low level in Smithing)

Sadly, I have neither the coding skill nor the artistic talent to really put this into realization (I wish I did), but I can conceptualize.  What do you guys think?  Would it be doable?

I did this months ago, and the quality of the fit is arguable because I don't really care about minor clipping on my end (laziness). I don't feel like doing a proper upload at the moment either. So here you go:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7dGPzUDGYmISEVRUlhueEFkXzQ/view?usp=sharing

credits go to Dizona for making the armor, and by extension in their credits, DAZ3D for the textures. Vector for SAM naturally.

Works great! Thanks for your effort! :D

It was a pretty quick refit since it's pretty revealing, and there isn't much clipping in the mesh. I also refit dizona's "first armor" and "heavy barbarian" if anyone has interest in those.

Thanks a lot!!!!

Testing DB First Armor I've noticed that Bracers aren't show once equipped and I have a little bit clipping in the torso at Samson 100 so I've fixed them, Here there are the fixes;

Fix for bracers only:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/o22s2ajxm4c21p2/SAM+-+DB+First+ArmorGlovesFix.rar

Fix for bracers and torso (if you get clipping like me):

http://www.mediafire.com/file/lzcpn95ozco6a8g/SAM+-+DB+First+ArmorGloves+TorsoFix.rar

Woops. Yeah I noticed those on my own side and fixed them, but I hadn't merged those fixes into the package I uploaded. Thanks.

These are offered as is. Same permissions as with the centurion: dizona, daz3d, and vector. Anyone can do a proper upload of these if they would like, I don't care. Improve upon it, whatever. Just give credit where it's due. That's all.

Thanks for your great works!

Sorry for noob question and necro, but I gotta ask: what armor does this mod replace?

Thank you so much!

I took a look, btw. If you don't want to cheat, you can craft the armor at a forge with the Dwarven Smithing perk, or you can find a version with unique enchantments in a chest inside Japhet's Folly Towers.

Damn that armor looks insane thanks a lot. Its a shame it won't fit my character hahahah, many clipping... i think that's because i tried to port to SE.

Edit: Resaving the tri files using outfit studio restored the refit.

Do we need the original mod or is this standalone? Ah! It is standalone! Thank you :D

Awesome! Thanks for this.. Wish i knew how to mod armors. I'd like to convert all the Dizona armors to SAM light including the Reaver one below
