Newest staff changes and site updates

Hi, sh1ny here.

As you may have noticed, Vector’s seemingly disappeared lately. First things first, Vector’s still alive and around. While he may have not been relentlessly active on the forums for the past months, he’s been modifying parts of SAM, specifically UI-related. Sadly, he’s been struggling with some real life problems for quite some time, which makes it hard for him to keep pushing forward on modding and community fronts.

On a different note, the new red names in our ‘Online’ and ‘Staff’ sections appeared. That’s right, we’re the new admins — I, Kor’treg, and lxlhunter. We are here to help Vector in his extraordinary journey. Be sure to contact us if you need help or have any questions regarding VectorPlexus’ mods or the website.

Lastly, for those wondering why they can’t access Modding forums anymore: yes, they were hidden for everyone but Authors group. The change was proposed by Vector due to the ongoing process of cleaning up forums' structure and further enhancing our community. Modding forums were originally planned as a place for modders (i. e., ‘Authors’) to exchange ideas and get help from their more experienced comrades. Vector’s intention was to separate tech talk, which is not everyone’s interest, from user feedback, issue reporting, and discussion. That doesn’t imply Modding section has become something exclusive for ‘Authors’—whatever that means—anyone can become one. This leads us to another problem: applying to groups, such as Hyper or Authors. While there must be a simpler way of doing so, for now you’ll have to apply through a corresponding forum thread or by asking me (or any other admin) via PM.

There will be a place for Members to discuss both games and mods, but in the meanwhile, please, use User Feedback functionality on individual mod’s page. The details are still being discussed and enhancements are in the progress, so stay tuned!

Update January 22:

And we give it back to you, the people.

New section Games&Mods has emerged. It’s meant to encompass all the threads that aren’t solely related to in-depth modding discussion (basically ~90%). There’s still more to be done, but it looks okay-ish for now.
